Dear Friends
"The
(Grange) Church is now vacant, but however is still ‘open for business’.
We go forward in hope with a quiet determination to spread the Good News
of the risen Saviour".
This was the message that
appeared in the recent issue of ‘Fountain’, the magazine of Irvine and
Kilmarnock presbytery. It was written by our own Session
Clerk, Mr Stewart, who is such a fine leader in the Grange Church.
Ken speaks for us all. Let us follow Ken’s lead.
This winter we have
seen the Grange Church continue on its steady route, engaging in the
many wholesome Church activities that promote a mature and healthy
congregation. Who can forget these lovely Christmas
services, or the deep sense of worship throughout Lent and Easter.
What a pleasure to visit the congregation’s organisations, and for me
what a personal sense of satisfaction in visiting you in your own homes.
So long as we are
able, or allowed, let us continue to prosper and develop with a ‘quiet
determination’ as Ken, Mr Stewart, so aptly put it. Soon we will
enjoy a Summer break, but already I am beginning to make provisional
plans for the Autumn in the Grange Church. In other words, as far
as I am concerned, ‘Grange has a future’.
Although decisions
will be taken by Presbytery, and these may well be somewhat out of our
hands, there is one place where our future rests firmly in our
hands. Every member in Grange has a personal responsibility to
support and attend, Grange Church. If you are Grange member
on the Roll of the congregation, then Grange Church is your personal
responsibility. We owe it to Grange Church, to yourself, and to
our Saviour, Jesus Christ.
Meanwhile, let us
all continue to care for and serve one another, and the good people of
Grange certainly know how to do that. Let me know of folks
in hospital, in Care Homes, or at home. I am here to minister to
you. Coleen and I are enjoying being at Grange. You have
made us very welcome.
God bless you all.

Hope you had a good Summer and look forward to seeing you all, old and new members,
